Kidney stones - 8 months pregnant

Oh the misery!
So I was 8 months along and working at the Inn at Solitude Mtn Resort...
I all of a sudden got a really sharp pain thru my left side
and it didn't go away.
So I was pretty sure it wasn't labor - but I didn't know what was going on.
[I'll be honest... I was wondering if I was just having a sudden attack. NOPE!]
I didn't know what to do... I was working by myself.
I let my manager go for a ski break.
It was slow and really boring anyways.
Thank goodness Brian was working that day.
I called him in a panic and told him he needed to come down and get me.
He was there pretty quickly.
He strapped me to a back board [semi-embarrassing] and took me over to the clinic.
They asked me a lot of questions - while I was throwing up in their waste basket.
They ruled out labor and decided it may be kidney stones,
but that I should probably go to the hospital.
Brian asked me if I wanted a ambulance... I told him
NO, JUST GET ME THERE!
It was the worst car ride ever... I was in so much pain.
I just whimpered, cried, and screamed the whole way down the canyon.
[Driving Brian crazy!]
Got to the emergency room and they sent me straight to the Womens Center.
They gave me shots of morphine in my butt [OUCH] and started doing tests.
They decided they were pretty sure it was kidney stones.
They took me over for x-rays on my kidney. [My left side]
They couldn't see my kidney - my colon was pretty dang full.
YUCK!
I stayed for 24 hours - on wonderful morphine!
Then stayed on Loratab at home!
Needless to say I didn't go back to work after that.
Instead I curled up on the couch and didn't go far from there!
I went back to the hospital about a week later for another stone.
Was there for 12 hours.
Then I passed another one at home...
decided it was time to do something about my colon.
Tried different things... don't need to list them! :)
Ended up taking a colonoscopy prep to help it along.
NASTY STUFF!!!!
It was midnight when I started.
My sweet husband and parents stayed up with me.
They watched a movie while I was in the corner in agony.
Of course it was a comedy so they kept laughing and enjoying themselves...
while I am just writhing in pain!
Felt some what better after that night.
By this point I was finally dilated to a one...
my doctor told me if I got ONE more kidney stone...
he would start me now that I was at a one.
He didn't want to just keep waiting.
It was probably stressing the baby out AND I was sick of the pain!
Plus he wanted to figure out what the deal was with my kidneys.
Well... I got ANOTHER ONE.
So Tuesday morning, March 24, I had finally had enough.
I called the hospital and they said they would call me back when
they had a room available for me to come in and use.
It wasn't an hour later that they called.
SO IT WAS TIME!!!

Here I am in all my misery!
I have my phone just in case I would need it...
and a heating pad to help with the pain.
It hurt to lay all the way down,
So I had to prop myself up a little.
Tell you what... I didn't sleep great!
The Loratab knocks me out!
As you can see...
sweet Mom getting me in my prime!

Family Shower ~ 3/19/09

Love the great Peterson family!
We debated whether or not we were going to be able to do this shower.
By this time I believe I had had 2 or 3 kidney stones.
Talk about miserable!!!
I would much rather be in the most miserable part
of pregnancy before having kidney stones.
This day I was feeling pretty good. Still didn't really get ready.
This alone drained ALL of my energy.
I didn't get off this couch.
Literally!!!
People brought me food,
handed me the presents,
THEY WERE MY SLAVES!
Ok, not really... just wonderful to help me out in my time of need!

Opening my awesome presents!
I love that no one around me is smiling...
they all look really bored!
HAHA!

The awesome crew! Love my sisters & cousins!!
Thanks Sisters for putting it together!

My sweet Mom & Aunts!
Ginni & Kay!
Me, Mom & Tammy!
[In case you didn't notice... look above my aunts...
Yes that is Kim laughing and Christy pointing to her butt!
LOVE THEM! I laugh every time I see this picture!]
Brian wasn't so sure about getting to open a "BABY" present.
That's my department!
But I knew what it was already... and figured he would be the one using it!

SWEET!!!
Thanks Grandpa & Grandma Peterson!
It was their tradition to give each grandchild a hiking pack
for each first great-grandchild born in that particular family.
The aunts have done a GREAT job keeping it up!
Thank you!!!
It has been used A TON!!!

Ward Baby shower 3/5/09

I love my sweet Granite View Ward!
It was such a wonderful Shower and so many thoughtful people!
Good grief... I'm huge!

I just love my Mom!!

Two great mothers!
Feel so lucky and blessed to have them!

The shower was in the evening in MARCH...
and sweet Alison drove down from Heber for it!
Look we match!

Eating some good food! Love the G.V. ward!

Hahaha... Sarah arrived!

It's his favorite to this day!

Eating super YUMMY food! I couldn't get enough!
Nor could Isaac... I think I had 4 helpings!
Man I must have been pregnant!
Love Chris Hair!
So wonderful to let us have it at her house too!

Love me some Coco and Misty!

SWEET!!!
Isaac's first bed!
He only slept in it til he was about 8-9 months old!

Two weeks later we headed up to the Gorge for the summer.
That wasn't easy... but we managed.
I was home by myself when he cried his first real tears.
That broke my heart! I cried too! :)
Brian found out he was accepted into the Nursing program at the UofU in April.
The summer was fun, we made a lot of trips down to Salt Lake.
We had weddings and fun visits!
Loved my first Mothers Day! So wonderful to be a mother!
Isaac and I spent some time in Heber taking care of
the Hoskisson Home while they were out of town.
That was fun! Had the house to ourselves!
We had both sets of Grandparents up to visit - which was so nice!
The Moffitt family came up to visit.
We had a good time playing games and going around Flaming Gorge!
Brian went on the Selway and I spent time in Salt Lake.
Brian turned 27!
We spent it in Heber! Then Bri went to Idaho with his Dad!
Went to Bear Lake with the Anderson Family.
That was hard, Isaac still napped about 3x a day.
So we didn't spend a lot of time on the beach, but loved just being there.
Played a lot of games with the Family!
Grandpa Claude had surgery...
and it was decided that we would move it with him...
I would help take care of him.
The Hoskissons helped us MAJOR clean the basement
and then we started moving in.
So nice with our own bathroom, two bedrooms,
living room and storage room!
Isaac loved his baby food!
Especially Applesauce!
I got a calling in our new ward as the Assistant coach.
We started practicing Volleyball right away!
The girls did a great job!
It was so fun to get to know them better.
Isaac started screaming when he was 6 months old.
He has such a shrill ear piercing scream.
It's rather harsh on the ears!
He finally figured out how to put his binki back in by himself.
That was really nice!
Isaac got his first tooth when he was 7 months.
Isaac was my little PUMPKIN for Halloween...
and the cutest pumpkin around!
I was a nurse!
I was called to a be a Beehive advisor!
I always wanted to be in the Young Womens!
We started helping my parents pack up there house to sell.
That was really hard.
I loved their house. It held so many memories.
I didn't want to let them go or the house.
It truly was more bitter then sweet.
It was hard to see Isaac sick for the first time.
He threw up all the solids I tried to feed him.
We went back to formula. That's all he could handle.
We had Thanksgiving with the Peterson family at Emily's ward house.
We always have a good time!
Ate lots of wonderful food and played fun games together in the gym.
December was a fun month!
I was able to go skiing a few times!
Love all our Christmas parties - so wonderful to spend time with family!
Poor Emily had surgery on her feet...
So I spent some time with her.
LOVE our families Christmas traditions!
Christmas Eve:
The Peterson family still goes to a movie and Crown Burger.
We went to Alvin and the Chipmunks Squeakel.
The kids got a kick out of it... well so did I!
Then that evening we went to Heber to spend Christmas Eve there.
We exchange our gifts then and eat yummy food.
Then we play the famous BINGO!
Later that evening we came home and I started a new tradition for our little family.
MRS. CLAUSE brings a little something to get us ready for Santa the next day.
So we each get to open ONE present... PAJAMAS!
CHRISTMAS DAY:
It was so fun to have Isaac this Christmas.
He by far had the most gifts under the tree.
[Mommy spoiled him!!!]
He got a lot of fun toys... which he was semi excited for!
Then we headed out to my parents house and had breakfast...
then opened gifts with them and hung out for most of the day.
ALL IN ALL...
2009 was the BEST YEAR EVER!!!
It was such a joy to have Isaac join our family!
He is the light and life to our family!!!
